Chapter 2-2: 10,000 Foot Overview - Part1

0x00 前言

這個大章節會大致介紹 AWS 中的各項服務，讓我們對學習有個 Overview

在 2017 年底，AWS 在全世界包含了 16 個 Regions 和 44 個 Availability Zones

2018 則預計再增加 6 個 Regions 和 17 個 Availability Zones

有個概念即可，證照考試並不會考這個數量，細節部分可以參考下面官方網站

A Region is a geographical area. Each Region consists of 2 or more Availability Zones.

An Availability Zone (AZ) is simply a Data Center.

Edge Locations are endpoints for AWS which are used for caching content.

Typically this of CloudFront, Amazon's Content Delivery Network (CDN).

There are many more Edge Locations than Regions. Currently, there are over 96 Edge Locations.

理解 Regions, Availability Zone 和 Edge Location
- A Region is a physical location in the world which consists of two or more Availability Zones.
- An AZ is one or more discrete data centers, each with redundant power, networking and connectivity, housed in separate facilities.
- Edge Locations are endpoints for AWS which are used for caching content. Typically this consists of CloudFront, Amazon's Content Delivery Network(CDN).
